The geese make me smile because they are a little awkward. Their long necks and wide feet interrupt the roundness of the flowers and fluffy accents. I like the small brown stitches on their bellies, too. They give the white felt something particular to hold your eye, even within this simple country picture.

For me, the hearts belong among the birds as naturally as the daisies. The warm brown runs through all three, drawing them together without making everything identical. There is room here for tenderness and a little silliness. Both feel at home in something made for childhood.
