The story from the maker
Marta
I enjoy the contrast between the balloon's orderly stripes and the loose, woolly edges of the clouds. The small basket gives the picture its sense of scale. Its pale trim is a tiny detail beside the large balloon, but it makes the whole shape feel more considered.

Cream and beige bring the moon, stars and clouds into the same little sky. For me, the pleasure lies in how much a few shapes can suggest. There is no destination marked out for this balloon. I like leaving that part of the picture open, for whoever happens to be looking up.
