The checked bow gives this bear a little formality, which makes its round face all the more endearing to me. There are only a few marks in the portrait: dark eyes, a pale muzzle and a curved stitched smile. The bold checks add a different kind of detail beneath the soft brown felt.

The rounded woven base is a quiet companion to that very proper bow. I like looking from its open weave to the close stitches around the face. Nothing about the bear needs to be grand. A carefully tied bow and a small smile are enough to give an ordinary corner of a room some character.
