Among a catalog of neutrals, the Rainbow shade is the rare colorful voice. A gray felt cloud, round and soft, anchors hand-cut raindrops in jewel tones: ruby, mustard, teal, rose, olive. Cheerful without being loud: the drops catch light differently depending on the hour, so the shade looks almost still at noon and almost animated by evening. A ceiling piece for the child who asks about colors, the room that wants a single bright note, the parent who likes their palette calm, just not completely.

When the big light goes off, these lamps stay on. The *Flower Night* lamp carries a small felt bouquet on a hand-braided cotton base; soft glow, soft silhouette, one of Marta's quietest pieces. The *Bear Lamp* holds a seated felt bear, hand-stitched, with the calm of a plush toy that has grown up. The *Goose Lamp* brings a felt goose onto a rattan base, a small piece of farmyard you can switch on at the nightstand. All three are designed to sit on a nightstand or shelf; all three run on a low-watt bulb so the glow stays gentle. These are after-story companions: the switch you reach for when the overhead is too much, and sleep has already started.

From Marta's Workbench in Wrocław
Marta is the maker behind Bring the Light, a one-person workshop tucked into a quiet corner of Wrocław, Poland. She designs and sews wool-felt lampshades, night lamps, ceiling mobiles, and wreaths for children's rooms. Every piece leaves her hands finished. The workshop opened in 2025, small on purpose, built around slow work, natural materials, and a belief that the objects around a sleeping child deserve as much thought as the ones around a grown-up.
Each piece starts with wool felt, hand-cut at the workbench with a small pair of scissors and a paper template. The shapes are stitched by hand onto cotton shades or braided rattan bases, one seam at a time. Nothing here is mass-produced, and small variations between pieces are part of the work. The aim is simple. When a child opens their eyes in the morning, the first thing they see above the cot is something a real person made for them.
