Sometimes you choose for a child before you know their favourite colour. Sometimes they make it very clear. Either way, there can be a little playfulness in the home you share. Here, an ordinary rain cloud has a brighter idea.

Cream felt clouds gather around a wooden ring. Beneath them, pink, purple, yellow and blue drops hang at different heights, separated by small pale beads. The spaces between the strings let each colour stand out, like a little picture drawn into the air.

You do not have to settle on one favourite colour to enjoy this little rain. It can be something bright you have chosen with your child in mind, with space for their own likes to find a place beside yours.
